LOW TITRE SILVER ALLOYS PRE-TREATMENT

Plants for the pre-treatment of low titre silver alloys which cannot be refined by electrolysis.

With low titre silver alloys (<70%) the electrolytic refining process may result not efficient enough to reach a purity of 999/1000.

We propose a plant to perform a pre-treatment on the low titre material, which aims at dissolving the metals present in the alloy such as copper (Cu) and zinc (Zn), and consequently raises the silver content (Ag) up to 80 -85%.

The process also allows the recovery of copper by electrolysis (electrowinning).
